overview Our laboratory focuses on mechanisms responsible for cancer cell metastasis at both the cellular and molecular levels. In this regard, we currently study the involvement of chemokine pathways that induce motility of cancer cells. The primary objective is to study how the CXCR4/CXCL12 signaling axis may aid in the migration and invasion of foreign tissues under cancerous condition. This system is studied in prostate and breast cancer cells. The following are some of the specific projects in our laboratory: · The role of tumor suppressors in CXCR4-mediated metastasis. · The role of cannabinoinds in anti-tumorigenesis and anti-cancinogenesis Proinflammatory macrophages in prostate cancer initiation and tumor progresion
